The Eagles ran for a remarkable 719 yards as a team on the ground and have now scored at least 35 points in every game this season. All 10 Chesnee touchdowns also came on running plays. #2sGotTalent
Head coach Brett Chappell gave credit not just to his running backs, but the entire offense that has bought into a system and thrived this season.
“I think when you look at the stats, that's what's going to be amazing. We've hung our hat on the running game all season, there's no secret about that. Our backs and our line, and everybody involved with the offense did such a great job,” said Chappell
“I thought our special teams were really good of course. I thought we were solid. The defense, we had some lapses in there but it was kind of bend don't break. We kept them from scoring those two-point conversions early and us getting a two-point conversion, that really swung momentum early in the game,” he added.
The Eagles are looking forward to next Friday night when we host Southside Christian in their home regular season-finale. A possible region championship and playoff seeding could be on the line. Kickoff is set for 7:30PM.
“It’s great to see our kids continue to fight. The big thing for us is that we're still in the conversation for a region championship. We’ve got a tough game next week, but it is at home, so we can't ask for much more than that,” said Chappell.

Cadets in the Chesnee High School JROTC program got the chance to face and conquer their fears and build confidence in a unique way.
In partnership with Swannanoa Fire & Rescue and the Bee Tree Fire Department, a small group of cadets were selected to take part in rappel training in Asheville, climbing up three stories up before descending back down via rope on the side of a building.
JROTC instructor, 1st Sgt. Michael Green sees events like this as an opportunity for his cadets to take a big step forward.
“You saw some of their legs shaking as they were going over the tower, but after they’re done, they’re so proud of themselves and happy with themselves, and it just instills a little bit of that confidence,” said Green.

October Monthly Parent Newsletter
Dear Eagle Family,
The first two months of the school year have flown by, and we enter October with a tremendous amount of momentum! One thing we pride ourselves on at Chesnee is being what we call a “Triple A School” or #AAA SCHOOL. You may see this referenced from time to time on social media or hear it in conversation. While we are all proud to compete in the SCHSL as an AA school, our reference to being a “Triple A School” represents something different. It means that we strive to excel in three areas: Academics, Arts, and Athletics. Over these first two months, that commitment has been on full display!
Our Orchestra kicked off the week with a great performance. Our students and Mrs. Burrows have worked extremely hard, and it was wonderful to see their dedication on display. Our Band was magnificent again last weekend and heads to Coastal Carolina this weekend to compete. In athletics, our students continue to compete at a high level. Our Volleyball team continues to roll through the competition, and our Competition Cheer squad returned to the mat last weekend with a great performance as they continue their pursuit of another state championship. To top it all off, our football team earned a HUGE win last night, defeating Clinton for the first time in school history! What a special accomplishment for our players and coaches!
Academically, our students continue to excel, and in the coming days, we look forward to sharing our state report card with our community. What you will see is a school that excels not only in preparing students who plan to attend college, but also in preparing those who plan to enter the workforce or enlist in the military. I am proud to say that Chesnee High School will be recognized as one of the very best schools in our area and across our state.
I share all of this because I know these accomplishments do not happen by accident. They are the result of the hard work and dedication of an unbelievable group of educators. Our teachers are exceptional, or, in state report card terms, “Excellent.” As a parent myself, I am incredibly proud that my own children have the opportunity to be taught by the outstanding educators who make up Chesnee High School.
We also recognize that this success would not be possible without the support of our District Office and School Board, who work to provide our students and teachers with the resources they need to compete with the very best. Most importantly, we know that none of this happens without the support of our families and our community. It is because of your belief in us and your continued support that we can work together to accomplish things that many outside of Chesnee may not believe are possible.
Personally, I could not be prouder of our school, our students, our educators, and our community.
As we continue to strive to be a #AAA School, we also recognize that we must continue to grow and improve in many areas. By now, I am sure you have heard a great deal about the upcoming referendum that will appear on the November ballot. I want to personally invite you to Chesnee High School on October 27 at 5:30 PM for a Community Town Hall Meeting with our Superintendent, Dr. Newman.
During this meeting, Dr. Newman will present the facts about the referendum, walk us through some of the renderings we have received from our architects, and answer questions our community may have. This will be an opportunity not only to learn more about the referendum, but also to gain a better understanding of what the future could hold for our great school and community. I truly hope you will be able to join us!
I also encourage you to visit our district website, where you can find additional information about the upcoming referendum: https://www.spart2.org/page/referendum. In the meantime, I will be happy to answer any questions I can.
We are excited about where Chesnee High School is today and proud of what our school has accomplished. We will always celebrate these achievements and remain grateful for the sacrifices made by so many to help us get where we are. At the same time, we will never settle. We will continue to grow, improve, and Boldly Embrace the STANDARD (#BEtheSTANDARD) every day.
Our commitment is to ensure that every student has the opportunity to be part of a school that excels Academically, Artistically, and Athletically. That is what being a #AAA School is all about, and that is what our students deserve.
As always, if I can ever be of assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out. I am grateful for your continued support, partnership, and belief in Chesnee High School. Together, we will continue to do great things for our students and our community.

Congratulations to our Chick-fil-A of Boiling Springs D2 Fine Arts Student of the Week Kylie Fowler. #2sGotTalent This is what Drew McGee, her Band Director at Chesnee High School, shared about her.
"Kylie helps make the band program better at Chesnee High School everyday both on and off the field! She serves as our band captain in the marching band and is also our featured oboe soloist throughout the show. In addition to her many musical talents, she has helped build a positive culture and motivates her peers to strive for excellence.
Kylie has earned many awards an honors in the last year including 1st Chair All-State oboe and a winner of the Spartanburg Philharmonic Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition. It is an honor to have a student like Kylie in our band program that pushes both her peers and myself to be our best everyday!"

After months of hard work, CHS orchestra director Tammie Burrows expressed her excitement about finally getting to see the show come to life in front of a live audience.
“This concert is a little bit unique. Back in the summer, I thought about what we could do that would bring self-awareness, really thinking about and self-care, talking about the mind, the body, the spirit. We chose a song that would represent each area, and did a whole project where the students made comments and things that they would do for themselves for each of those eight areas” said Burrows. “It took great form this summer and our mental health counselor Amanda Ledford really helped pull it all together. Tonight the students will get to do some of the reading and introducing of the songs, so it really has been a collaborative work and we've stayed positive because all the music is so fun and means something to us." #2sGotTalent

Our Chesnee High School and Boiling Springs High School Competitive Cheer Teams joined to host the Clawdown Classic at BSHS. #D2isFamily
Three teams from D2 took part in the competition, both the Eagle and Bulldog Varsity Squads, and the JV Bulldogs.
“Today was amazing. It was nice to host the Clawdown Classic for our district,” said Boiling Springs coach Kenzie Crowe. “All of the girls who came performed really well. We’re really looking forward to hosting this competition again in the future.”
On the mat, the Eagles took home first place in the 1A/2A varsity bracket and the title of Grand Champs. The Bulldogs Varsity team finished first in the 5A bracket. The BSHS JV squad completed a great day for D2, taking home second place. #2sGotTalent
“It’s our first competition, so we just want to get out there, make a first impression, and get scored,” said Chesnee head coach Allie Tyner Stubbs. “We weren't asking for perfection. We were just asking them to do the one thing that they came here to do, and that's compete for score.”
